Prior to joining Infire Forensic in 2004, Pete was a Fire Officer for 35 years, 32 in the West Midlands the last 18 as a full time specialist Fire Investigator. He then moved to head the Devon & Cornwall Arson Task Force, where his primary role involved principal investigator on major fires, and investigation support to other investigators. He has experience in criminal courts, civil courts and at mediation meetings. 

In 2003 he carried out a scoping study with the American ATFE on fire investigation capabilities of the relevant agencies in Colombia, South America. He currently also has business interests in South America consulting on investigations and training. As a specialist Fire Investigator he has carried out in excess of 2000 fire scene examinations including major commercial losses, domestic properties, motor vehicles and 145 fire death enquiries, covering accidents, murders and suicides.

Our Charges

To enable our clients to be aware of their expenditure and assist them in deciding if their losses are worth pursuing, we are happy to negotiate either a fixed fee or an hourly rate, whichever suits. 


1. Small to Medium Fires

Most investigations can be completed within 10 hours and would include a site visit, some research, photographs and a comprehensive report.


2. Larger more Protracted Investigations

For larger incidents that may reuire a lengthy investigation or more than one investigator, a contract can be provided and agreed. This may include any overnight hotel expenses and flight costs if required. These can be negotiated and agreed at the time the instructions are given and will require a deposit.
